For more than four decades, the Christopher Martins 5K has been one of New Haven’s favorite holiday traditions — combining the excitement of a road race with the true spirit of giving.

Each December, hundreds of runners, volunteers, and community members come together to support local children in need. Over the years, this event has donated more than 60,000 toys to brighten Christmas morning for families across New Haven.

What makes the Christopher Martins 5K special isn’t just the race — it’s the message of love and community behind every step. Each toy represents a simple but powerful reminder that the people of New Haven care for one another, and that the season of giving is about more than gifts — it’s about connection, kindness, and joy.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to every runner, volunteer, and sponsor who has helped make this event such a success year after year. Your support keeps this incredible tradition alive and continues to make Christmas a little brighter for the children of our city.
